Innovative, competitive, efficient accounting solutions. We are the accounting firm known for excelling at all of our business relationships and opportunities. That’s our reputation!

But what exactly is High Rock the people, not the firm, all about?

This is the question we probably hear more than just about anything. Maybe it’s our cloud-based model. Maybe it’s our paid-paid time off that we strongly encourage our CPAs to take (yes, we pay a vacation stipend to reimburse trip expenses for our team). Maybe it’s our motto, “Accounting. Done Differently.” Whatever it is, all of these things go back to our core values which rest at the heart of everything we do.

At Our Core

To put it quite plainly, we are all about the individuals who are apart of, work with, or are impacted by High Rock Accounting. That’s why when we first got going, we spent a lot of time choosing our core values . We wanted to make sure that what we ended up with truly embodied both our people (more commonly referred to around the office as our greatest asset) and our culture which reflects the awesomeness of these individuals!

We wish we could say that our core values set the standard for our CPAs (and don’t get us wrong, in a way they do). But more often than not, our core values reflect the incredible attributes that all of our business accountants already bring and contribute each day, as well as all the ways our firm continuously excel in the public accounting industry.

Our people are what lead our firm to not only succeed but to do the impossible (see why we believe that our people are our greatest asset? We really couldn’t do any of this without them!). Our people are the reason we always create outstanding experiences with each of our clients while also cultivating a nontraditional culture throughout our firm.

Through a foundation of honesty, effectiveness and the courage to try again if we fail, we at High Rock exceed all expectations, even the highest ones which we often set for ourselves.

People, Not Numbers

At High Rock, we defined our core values clearly. They aren’t ambiguous and why would they be? We are so incredibly proud to hold our values where they are.

Instead, we wrote them down. We published them on the internet. We keep them in several places where everyone (literally everyone) has access to them. And we encourage our people to revisit them as often as possible (even obsessively if they so desire) because we believe that keeping our values in mind is crucial for our successes.

When highlighting our core values, we wanted to be sure our values represented all the great qualities our people contribute to make our firm more than just another accounting firm.

What we ended on our core values that act as a compass, helping to reorient our firm back toward our “why” on those really, really tough days (because yes, even at High Rock we have those too).

By founding all our relationships with transparency and setting the foundation of each interaction and project on our core values, we build a trusting relationship between our CPAs and our clients. We create a happier, more inclusive culture where business accountants actually want to work and businesses are excited to work with us (we know, it sounds crazy. But it’s not). We honestly believe that actively paying attention to our core values is part of what drives High Rock to continuously disrupt the old school public accounting industry and create an accounting culture centered around people, not numbers.

We have already done the impossible by creating and sustaining a small successful business. So now it is your turn to do something incredible. Whether it is through making their experience working with you the best thing yet, or by giving them a new and far more efficient process, or by using your magical resources and creating gateways for the business to expand and dominate. Whatever it may be, dream, and do it.

Efficiency

We are only as good as the product we create. Let’s make our services the best, most reliable and efficient our clients have ever seen! Let’s strive to be the best of the best, and show those other hooligans what fantastic work looks like!

Quality Client Service

Obviously. Clients make the business. They are what give us, accountants, and the ability to dream and expand our ideas.  It is with this in mind, that we give our clients a mind-blowing experience with us each and every time.

Growth

Combine all the above and we begin to create growth. We are in the business of not just counting money (jokes) but making it. We want to be constantly expanding and growing not only our knowledge but our business as well. You are here to be a part of that.

Fail and Learn

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” – Henry Ford

From one great to the next, it is only through trial and error that we learn and grow. So don’t be afraid to mess up once in a while. Get back up, learn where you went wrong, and fail again and again and again, until you get it right.

Honesty

Failure is only a problem if you are not honest with yourself and everyone else about it. We are a team, a business family, and we owe it to each other to be honest in all our endeavors, whether it be a mistake, a question, or an objection. We value your voice, opinion, and you’re learning, so we expect you to value the same in us as well.

Community

Our community involves those within our office, those connected to our office, and potential additions to our offices. Our clients, prospective and current, employees both near and far, are all considered a part of us. We strive for a sense of comfort and connectedness between us all.

Team

With that said, we are a team. We work together, we win together, and we fail together. We may not be playing with a pigskin or a checkered ball, but we are still one team. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, or lend a helping hand or knowledge bomb when called upon. All for High Rock, and High Rock for all!

Dream Big

Not all accomplishments are achieved in big leaps but in small molehills. Without crazy, unthinkable, jack-and-the-giant-beanstalk-sized goals to work towards, our molehills will never be conquered! So reach for the stars, put your head in the clouds, or whatever they say, just dream it.

So, why are we doing this? Because we absolutely love our people! We can’t ever say this enough. Our people never fail to inspire us, and our core values reflect this. We want everyone to know! Only by continuously centering back on what High Rock is all about, can we continue to innovate a better public accounting industry for all CPAs.
