free·dom
/ˈfrēdəm/
noun – the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved
How many of us feel subjected or enslaved to our jobs? At one time or another, many of us have had a job that made us want to call out of work on a day to day basis. Maybe you are one of the fortunate ones that love where you work but know there could be a better way to conduct business.
One of the critical components that we aim for here at Nucleus is empowering humans with freedom. The freedom to work how you want to. Most importantly, the flexibility to work when you need to. What would your ideal environment look like? Have you thought about the types of clients you are passionate to help? Do you dream of being able to head home in time for dinner with the family? Or, to walk downstairs after shutting off the computer and joining your family in the living room for game night or a movie night?
The standard in firm life is to work 70+ hours a week, and then you die. Some firms are embracing remote work, but they still keep you tethered to their schedule.
One of the primary motivations for becoming an entrepreneur is freedom. Despite business owners being some of the hardest working individuals on the planet, the journey to entrepreneurial freedom involves so much more than escape from the firm life but taking control of your destiny.
It is not without risk or responsibility, however. A Gallup poll sited 84% of business owners in 2017 would do it all again. Why? Because of their independence. 42% said the biggest reason for going out on their own was to be their own boss and to have the freedom to make decisions for themselves. Having options and choices to deploy your resources and assets is way more important than owning or using the resources and assets themselves. Being able to exercise your options and opportunities is how you eventually grow to increase both your time and financial freedom.
When you see the results of the choices you make turn into your success, it fuels the fire and passion that made you take the leap to begin with. Passion is your drive, your ambition, your love of what you do, and the love for the people you serve. A successful entrepreneur must have a passion driving them forward. This is the same passion that allows you to take that first step out on your own.
“Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.” – Farrah Gray
Imagine creating your ideal schedule. What does that look like to you? Using the power of technology, you can travel and stay in contact with your clients from anywhere in the world. Where would you choose to go? Whom would you take with you?
Don’t lose sight of the possibilities. Take control of your future, your freedom, your time.
